Where We Started
Duck hiding is one of the fastest-growing community traditions aboard cruise ships — passengers hide rubber ducks for other cruisers to find, re-hide, and track across voyages. But the tracking lived in Facebook groups, spreadsheets, and paper notes. There was no dedicated platform: no way to issue a persistent identity to a duck, log finds across multiple ships, or give finders a frictionless experience without requiring an account.
This is the reality many businesses face: strong service, loyal customers, but a digital presence that fails to reflect either. The gap between how good a business is and how well it presents online is where revenue is lost every day.
Our Solution
How We Navigated It
We built DuckPass — a web app that gives every rubber duck a digital passport, complete with QR and NFC tagging, a living travel log, and a finder-friendly check-in flow that requires no account creation. Owners manage their fleet from a clean dashboard; finders scan or tap and log a find in seconds. Ship names, cruise lines, itineraries, and port notes turn each passport into a collectible voyage story.
The work wasn't just aesthetic—it was strategic architecture. Every element was designed to serve a specific role in the conversion funnel, from the homepage hero through to the contact form and automated follow-up sequence.
